Overall Opinion:
Artulano Retinol Moisturizer Cream was pretty underwhelming for me as far as retinol creams go.
There was nothing necessarily bad about Artulano Retinol Moisturizer, but there wasn’t much good about it either.
This product has a really interesting texture; it is very thick, but it has a slippery feeling. It doesn’t just absorb right into the skin, it moves and spreads on the skin and takes a while to finally absorb and dry down.
After using this product for a short amount of time, there was really no difference to my skin at all. After using it for a longer period of time, I saw very minimal results. My skin felt moisturized but really not any more moisturized than when I use a good moisturizer. It also helped plump my skin a tiny bit but not enough to make any real difference to my fine lines and wrinkles. There were no other improvements to my skin at all which was disappointing.
Overall, this retinol moisturizer cream didn’t do enough for to my skin to want to reach for this product again.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
Artulano Retinol Moisturizer Cream has a thick, but slippery, texture and feeling. What I mean by “slippery” is that is doesn’t just soak right into the skin, it takes a while to absorb so it allows you to move the product on the face and the neck. The feeling on this retinol cream isn’t my favorite.
Application
The application is fairly easy; it comes in a bottle with a pump which makes for clean and sanitary use. Even though it comes in a bottle with a pump, which is normally my preferred method pf application, the pump is finicky and it is difficult not to pump out too much product. Because this is a thick and slippery product, you only need a little bit so you end up wasting a lot.
Drying Time
This product takes longer than normal to dry down, but eventually it will absorb into the skin. It starts drying down and getting tacky after 45 seconds to a minute and will be fully dry and absorbed a few minutes later.
Smell
There is no added fragrance to this retinol cream and no specific scent to note.
Short Term Results
Short term using this retinol cream, I didn’t notice much of a difference. My skin didn’t feel especially moisturized and it also didn’t have any plumping or skin softening.
Longer Term Results
After using Artulano Retinol Moisturizer Cream for a longer period of time, I noticed minimal improvements to my skin. The small improvements I noticed were improved moisture and a bit of plumped up skin and softening of fine lines. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice any major difference to the deeper wrinkles on my skin. I also had no difference to the tone and texture of my skin or the hyperpigmentation. These results were pretty disappointing. I typically expect much more from a retinol cream.
Ingredients Analysis
Artulano Retinol Moisturizer Cream has a lot of interesting ingredients such as Propolis, Vitamin E, and Shea Butter.
First, propolis is a substance found in the combs of honeybees and is considered to be very healing, antibacterial, and restorative. It’s used as a gentle anti-aging ingredient in many skin care products.
Next, vitamin E is an antioxidant that is meant to protect the skin and prevent damage such as premature aging. It also can soften the skin and help improve texture.
Lastly, shea butter can boost the collagen production in the skin which will help lessen the appearance of existing fine lines and wrinkles, as well as help prevent more from forming.
Price
Artulano Retinol Moisturizer Cream is $17.95 for 3.4 oz of product which comes out to $5.27 per oz.
That’s pretty inexpensive for a retinol cream.
