Overall Opinion:
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum since it’s more of a drugstore product, but you never know since some of the best products can be found at the drugstore. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t consider this product one of the best or even close to it.
The texture and feeling of this retinol serum are very thin and watery, and a little bit goes a really long way. This product dries down quickly in about 15 seconds and totally absorbs into the skin.
After using this product for a short period of time, I didn’t notice much of a difference to my skin at all. After using this serum for a longer period of time, I still didn’t see a difference to my skin. The most I saw was a bit of extra hydration but overall, I was very disappointed in the lack of improvement to my skin. There was really no difference to the fine lines and wrinkles on my skin or the texture and tone.
Overall, this retinol serum was really disappointing, and I wouldn’t use this retinol serum again.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
The texture and feeling of CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum are very thin and watery and a little bit goes a long way. As it dries down on the skin, it feels cooling on the skin but that goes away pretty quickly.
Application
The application of this retinol serum is easy; it comes in a bottle with a pump but be careful when applying it because you only need a very small amount of product and one full pump is too much.
Drying Time
This retinol cream dries down really fast; it dries down in about 15 seconds.
Smell
There is no distinguishable scent.
Short Term Results
After using CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum for a short amount of time, there wasn’t really much of a change to my skin at all.
Longer Term Results
After using this serum for a longer period of time, I still didn’t see much of a difference. There was minimal change to my fine lines and there was virtually no difference to the texture and tone of my skin.
Ingredients Analysis
There are many interesting ingredients in CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum but a few that stood out to me were hyaluronic acid, dimethicone, and niacinamide.
First, hyaluronic acid is great for anti-aging because it is supposed to help the skin retain moisture, which can help hydrate and plump up the skin which can help plump up fine lines and wrinkles.
Next, dimethicone can be good for the skin by helping retain moisture as well as form a protective barrier on the skin.
Lastly, niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. It is supposed to help with anti-aging by improving hydration, reduce signs of aging, and help diminish skin discoloration.
These three ingredients are interesting and could really help the skin with hydration and anti-aging when used in combination.
Price
The cost is $17.99 for 1 oz of product.
This is a pricier retinol serum especially for one that is sold in drugstores.
Guarantee
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any money back guarantee for CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum.
