Overall Opinion:
TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer is a disappointing retinol cream.
The results I achieved from this product were less than desired. I noticed that the heavy consistency and the greasiness of this product clogged my pores and caused blemishes on my skin.
As I said, this product is very heavy and very greasy and feels thick and sticky on the skin. This isn’t a comfortable product to wear, and it feels like it will cause dirt and dust to stick to your face.
Because of the negative side effects of this product, any other results weren’t noticeable. My face did feel moisturized but I didn’t notice a difference in dark spots or wrinkles on my face.
Because of the heavy and greasy cream, this product doesn’t seem like a good fit for people of all skin types based on our personal experience.
Overall, the TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer was too heavy and greasy and caused too many breakouts for good results.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer feels very thick and sticky in texture and has a white color that stays until its fully rubbed into the skin.
The feeling is heavy and sticky and doesn’t feel nice on the skin; it feels like the skin can’t breathe at all.
Application
The application of TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer takes a bit longer than a lot of retinols, and requires a lot of product.
Since the moisturizer is so thick, the product doesn’t go very far on the face and you have to apply the product in about three phases.
Once it’s applied, you have to wait to apply any other products because it stays so greasy and sticky.
Drying Time
TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer takes a long time to dry. In fact, it doesn’t really dry down at all.
After five minutes, the product still feels greasy and tacky; the feeling of that doesn’t really go away.
Smell
The smell of TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer is a bit like liquid kids glue.
After a few minutes, the smell of glue goes away and there is no longer any scent.
Short Term Results
The short term results I achieved were actually really bad. The next morning, I woke up with breakouts on my skin.
I figured the product could be detoxing my skin so I didn’t fully judge the product yet.
Longer Term Results
Longer term results I noticed were worse breakouts as I used the TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer.
Since the moisturizer is so thick and greasy, it seemed to clog the pores.
I was really disappointed that over time I only saw worse breakouts and more clogged pores.
Ingredients Analysis
TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer at 2.5% Retinol. We like that they use a pure retinol and a pretty high percentage of it.
It also contains phospholipids which are meant to hold the moisture in your skin and keep it hydrated.
Vitamin E is also found in TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer which is known to help block free radicals which helps aid in anti-aging.
Aloe Vera is another great ingredient found in this product which helps reduce inflammation and helps heal the skin.
These are all ingredients which are known to help with anti-aging and moisture.
Price
The cost of TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer is $19.99 for 2 oz which comes to $9.99 per oz.
That price is pretty inexpensive for a retinol product.
Guarantee
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any money back guarantee for TruSkin Retinol Moisturizer.
