Overall Opinion:

Topix Replenix Smoothing Serum 5x was a slightly better than average product.

I gave this product a 3 out of 5 stars, and not slightly higher, mainly because of the smell and price point.

Although I did notice some changes to my skin texture, I didn’t notice enough of a change in my lines and wrinkles to justify a $73.50 price tag.

I have to be really wowed by a product to pay that on a frequent basis!

The smell was a big turn off as well. It wasn’t pleasant to apply because of it.

Overall my results were just okay.

As I mentioned, my skin did appear more hydrated and gained a silky texture to it.

This product may be good for those of you with sensitive and dry skin because of how mild and hydrating it is.

If you prefer using a stronger retinol serum I would not recommend this.

Detailed Opinion:

Texture/Feel

Topix Replenix Smoothing Serum is slightly thicker than many of the other serums and creams I’ve tried.

It has a yellow to white hue to it.

It feels like a greasy jelly substance when you first pump it out, however it quickly transforms to a more velvety, silky texture.

Application

Applying this product is really simple.

After you cleanse your skin before bedtime, you apply a thin layer all over your face.

Make sure to gently pat it onto your skin.

I took it one step further and also applied it to my hands before bedtime as well.

Drying Time

Topix Replenix dries really quickly.

Although it feels really greasy when it first touches your skin, it absorbs relatively quickly.

You can feel the serum on your skin for a while after application, however it’s never sticky.

Your skin just has this velvet-like hydrated feel to it. Almost how skin feels after you apply a hand lotion.

Smell

The smell of this one is not the greatest.

It has a very “dirty” odor to it.

It was really mild, however it smelled pretty bad to me.

When you first pump it out, it seems fragrance-free, but then as soon as you apply it to your skin you can smell it.

This was one of the biggest drawbacks for me.

It was really unpleasant to put on your skin, however it dissipated to some degree after about a minute or so.

Short Term Results

After waking up the next morning after using Topix Replenix Smoothing Serum, I liked what I saw when looking in the mirror, even though I didn’t notice a huge change.

My skin looked smooth and hydrated which is always a plus when trying a new retinol product.

I experienced no side effects.

Longer Term Results

Long term I noticed a few changes in my skin after using this product.

Fine lines seemed a bit less noticeable and my skin felt smoother and more hydrated.

It’s hard to say exactly, but my skin texture did improve over time after using this product.

My skin gained a glow about it, and my lines on my hands did seem to appear slightly less severe.

Ingredients Analysis

Topix Replenix Smoothing Serum contains cyclopentasiloxane as its number one ingredient listed.

That’s a silicone, which is good for hydration and skin care.

This serum also contains green tea which in itself can diminish wrinkles and lines on skin.

Green tea also has a very hydrating effect and it calms your skin, which explains why this product didn’t irritate my skin.

This serum contains .5% retinol which is on the lower side as far as concentration goes. (I think they do have some higher concentration products however.)

Price

A one ounce tube of Replenix costs a very expensive $73.50.

This is much more expensive than your average retinol serum.

Guarantee

This product’s guarantee seems to be based upon where you buy it.

They don’t seem to have their own website so you have to rely on the guarantee provided by Amazon, DermStore, etc.

It’s a little strange that they don’t have their own website.
