Overall Opinion:
Rhonda Allison Retinol Supreme, in my opinion, is a very poor retinol serum.
I saw terrible results while using this product, and it took me some time to get my skin back to how it looked pre-use.
It perpetually broke me out, made my skin dry and red and also made my lines more noticeable!
I kept excepting one morning to wake up with my skin peeling to start that sluffing process that occurs with a strong retinol product, but it never happened.
My skin just stayed in limbo the entire time and just kept getting worse and worse.
The only reason why I gave this product a 1.5 rating instead of even lower is because I have faith in the Rhonda Allison brand.
I tend to really like this line, but was extremely disappointed with this product.
Although it’s marketed to all skin types, the only person I may recommend it to is someone with REALLY oily skin.
I have normal to dry skin and this product was terrible for me.
Due to the fact that I have faith in the line, it might be right for some people, but not at all for me.
In addition, the price tag was astronomical at $100.00 per ounce.
There are many other products on the market that are more affordable and work a lot better.
However, especially at this price tag, I don’t think it is worth the gamble to try.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
Rhonda Allison Retinol Supreme is a lightweight, creamy serum.
It has a yellow to white pigment.
In addition, it also has a sticky, yet watery texture.
Application
Applying Retinol Supreme is simple.
After you cleanse your skin at night, you apply a thin layer all over your face.
Per the instructions on the bottle, I only applied this product 2 nights per week.
The entire application process takes no more than 15 seconds.
Drying Time
Unfortunately, this product takes a while to dry.
Even the smallest amount makes your skin feel gooey and sticky for a long time.
Although it absorbs and appears dry after about a minute, your skin still feels sticky for quite a while.
It’s not as if the product would come off on anything, such as a blanket or a pillow, if you go right to bed, but you can feel it on your skin.
Smell
The smell of this one is very mild.
Although it doesn’t smell great, it doesn’t have an offensive odor.
I always enjoy using products that give off a fruity or spa like aroma, because it makes applying more fun.
Again it’s mild, but something to consider.
Short Term Results
After waking up the next morning after using Rhonda Allison Retinol Supreme, I didn’t like what I saw.
My skin was really rough and red and my forehead was broken out.
I know that retinol products are very drying by nature and that your skin gets dry and then peels to cause the desired effect, so I was willing to give to a shot in hopes that was going to be the final result.
With that being said I was still concerned about my intense breakout on my forehead.
It took me forever to get my makeup on that morning, and I had to use about double the amount of lotion on my face for hydration.
Longer Term Results
Longer term I noticed mostly negative changes in my skin.
My fine lines seemed more noticeable and my forehead was constantly broken out.
My skin never went through the dry -> peeling -> results process.
It just felt dry and blotchy the entire time.
My wrinkles got much more visible and my pores enlarged :(
Ingredients Analysis
Rhonda Allison Retinol Supreme contains pure retinol.
It also contains Witch Hazel Water.
By design this product is intended to help calm acne and help heal skin.
I didn’t notice any of those characteristics when using Retinol Supreme.
Like many skincare products, it contains squalane.
Squalane is supposedly a natural moisturizer, although I didn’t experience that, it has no reported side effects when used in cosmetic products.
Price
A half ounce tube of Rhonda Allison Retinol Supreme, costs a very expensive $50.00, which comes out to $100.00 per ounce.
For a product costing that much, I need to be blown away, and I wasn’t.
This is obviously a VERY expensive retinol serum.
Guarantee
You can’t buy this product directly from Rhonda Allison.
All third parties will have different satisfaction guarantees.
I found this product on Amazon, so at least you get their guarantee.
Another online retailer for this serum, Spa Santa Cruz, has an “all sales are final” policy, which is really uncommon.
So, keep all this in mind when ordering!
