Overall Opinion:
Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM is a simple product that happens to work really, really well.
Although it doesn’t have a lot of additional ingredients (outside of retinol), the retinol percentage is higher than many other OTC treatments.
That may explain why it does such a great job on fine lines and wrinkles!
We don’t see a lot of negatives with this product except applying it can be a bit messy and wasteful (due to the “dropper” packaging).
It’s also pricey at $65 an ounce…
But overall, we like this product because it simply and effectively delivers all the amazing benefits of retinol.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM is an oil-based treatment.
So it’s very light and free-flowing. It has a consistency similar to olive oil (only not as thick).
Application
This is one of the areas where we think Fusion PM could be better.
Because it’s an oil, it tends to get everywhere once you extract it from the bottle.
And it’s made even worse by the dropper that comes with the bottle.
In the end, a lot of the product gets wasted and it’s somewhat difficult to apply.
It’s a shame though because once you get it on your face, it feels really nice!
Drying Time
Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM dries extremely quickly.
In fact, it dries so fast it’s kind of hard to get even coverage and blend in.
Smell
This retinol product has virtually no smell.
There might be a slight, “oil” odor coming from it but it’s barely noticeable.
If your sensitive to fragrance, Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM would be a good one to try.
Short Term Results
We really liked the short term results we got with Fusion PM.
It made our skin feel extremely smooth immediately after application and upon waking the next day.
Longer Term Results
Over a longer time period, the results we got with Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM continued to get better and better.
Smoother, clearer skin and less noticeable fine lines were the things we noticed most.
It’s great that an OTC product can actually improve these things :)
Ingredients Analysis
The ingredients in Fusion PM are very straightforward.
Retinol is the featured ingredient and there’s a higher percentage (1.5%) of it compared to most other retinol creams.
Sometimes as the percentage climbs, so does he irritation. We didn’t experience any of that with Fusion PM.
Because it only contains 11 ingredients, this could be a great retinol treatment for those with sensitivities to cosmetic ingredients.
Price
Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM costs $65.00 for a one ounce bottle.
That works out to $65 an ounce and is pretty expensive when compared to other retinol creams (although we’ve seen higher).
Guarantee
Peter Thomas Roth offers a 30-day guarantee but you have to provide a reason as to why you’re returning it.
We prefer unconditional guarantees but at least it’s something.
