When I heard Herbivore came out with a retinol alternative, I knew I had to try it! Herbivore is a well-known skincare company so I definitely had high hopes for this retinol alternative serum.
The texture and feeling of this retinol serum are very thin and almost a little bit slimy to the touch at first, but the serum dries so quickly the slimy texture goes away almost immediately. This retinol serum comes in a bottle with a dropper which makes application really easy. A little bit goes a long way so you only need about 2 drops.
Since this is a retinol alternative, I was excited to take a closer look at their ingredients. This retinol alternative has a lot of very interesting ingredients, including bakuchiol, which this product was named after. Bakuchiol helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by targeting the wrinkles and works similarly to retinol.

The texture and feeling of this retinol serum are very thin and almost kind of slimy when you first apply it, but don’t let that bother you because it goes away very quickly.

Second to a pump, I love a dropper applicator and this product comes in a bottle with a dropper. You only need a tiny bit, about 2 drops, and I like to drop the product directly on my face so no product is wasted.
Drying Time
Since this retinol serum is very thin, it dries very quickly, in about 10 seconds, and it totally absorbs into the skin without leaving any kind of residue.
Smell
There is pretty much no scent to this retinol serum at all.
