Overall Opinion:
Eve Hansen Retinol Serum is an average retinol serum that helped with slight improvements to the skin.
The results achieved from this product were okay, but they were subtler than we would have hoped for when using a retinol.
Application and texture of this product is really nice; it feels so lightweight on the skin and applies and absorbs very quickly. It also only requires a small amount of product over the whole face because of the watery consistency, so the product goes a long way.
The main downside to this product is the slow and lack of results. We’d like to see better results much quicker.
For a gentle retinol that will show small improvements over time, it works and the price isn’t too bad either.
Overall, Eve Hansen Retinol Serum is really just an average product that will give you slight improvements to your skin over time.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
Eve Hansen Retinol Serum is a gel consistency that feels a lot like water when you’re rubbing it into the skin.
It has a very lightweight feeling and absorbs into the skin almost immediately leaving the skin traceless of product.
Application
The application of Eve Hansen Retinol Serum is very easy since it’s a gel.
The gel is very watery so a little bit of product goes a long way; one pump is more than enough to cover the whole face.
Since the product absorbs into the skin very quickly, the application process is a lot faster than most creams or lotions.
Drying Time
Eve Hansen Retinol Serum dries very quickly on the skin.
After about 20-30 seconds, the gel is completely dry and it feels like there is no product at all on the skin.
Smell
The smell of Eve Hansen Retinol Serum is almost non-existent, but when it’s first applied, it smells just a bit herbal.
After a few seconds, the smell goes away completely.
Short Term Results
There weren’t really any short term results with Eve Hansen Retinol Serum.
The next morning, my skin didn’t feel any different from how it feels or looks any other day.
Longer Term Results
Longer term I noticed some small differences; the appearance of the skin was more radiant.
Although after time, my skin did feel a bit smoother and look a bit more radiant. It wasn’t as much of a difference as I would have hoped for.
It seems that this product is very gentle and the results are subtle.
Ingredients Analysis
Eve Hansen Retinol Serum contains retinol 2% which is considered to be a stronger percent of retinol. This is a product that should be used at night when your skin isn’t exposed to the sun.
It also contains botanical hyaluronic acid which is known to plump the skin and fill in fine lines and wrinkles.
Wheat germ oil is also found in this product and with its antioxidant properties is also thought to help with wrinkles and overall skin texture. It also is thought to be moisture binding which helps improve texture and dryness.
Another ingredient found is phospholipids which contain fatty acids that help moisturize the skin by holding on to water and moisture in the skin.
These are definitely great ingredients that are all thought to have a good impact on the skin.
Price
The cost of Eve Hansen Retinol Serum is $19.95 for 2 oz which comes to $9.97 per oz.
This is a pretty inexpensive product especially for a retinol serum.
Guarantee
Eve Hansen offers a 60-day money back guarantee.
After 60 days, you can receive a gift card for your return, so they have a pretty great policy!
