Overall Opinion:

Essy Advanced Retinol Serum didn’t work for my skin at all and left my skin feeling highly irritated and broken out.

This retinol serum has a milky texture when it’s first applied, and as you rub it into the skin, it has a thin and watery feeling.

The dropper applicator is really easy to use and since the serum has a thin texture, a little bit goes a long way.

This serum has a slight floral scent, and although it’s not strong, it’s not very pleasant and I’d prefer if it didn’t have the scent.

After using this serum for a short period of time, my skin became a bit irritated and broken out. It also began to develop some dry patches.

After using Essy Advanced Retinol Serum for a longer period of time, I realized this product didn’t agree with my skin. It caused many more, deeper breakouts along my jaw and neck, as well as dry patches and itchy skin. My wrinkles began to look worse because of the state of my skin.

Overall, Essy Advanced Retinol Serum is not a retinol serum I will be using again, as it doesn’t work for my skin and I can’t recommend this product for anyone with sensitive skin.

Detailed Opinion:

Texture/Feel

Essy Advanced Retinol Serum has a milky texture to it when it’s first applied to the skin. As you glide the product around on your face, it feels very thin and watery and light on the skin.

Application

Essy Advanced Retinol Serum is easy to apply because of the dropper applicator; it makes it easy to use just the right amount of product. A little bit goes a long way with this serum. Since it’s very watery, you only need one drop for the face and one drop for the neck and chest.

Drying Time

Essy Advanced Retinol Serum takes about 20-30 seconds to dry. As the serum is drying down, it feels sticky to the touch, but once it’s totally dry, it feels totally undetectable on the skin.

Smell

There is a slight floral scent to the Essy Advanced Retinol Serum; it’s nothing too strong but I would prefer if the scent wasn’t there.

Short Term Results

After using Essy Advanced Retinol Serum for a short period of time, my skin became a bit irritated, especially around the drier areas of my face like around my mouth and on my forehead. I began experiencing some slight breakouts and itchy skin. I also didn’t notice any difference in my fine lines or wrinkles.

Longer Term Results

Over a longer period of time, Essy Advanced Retinol Serum continued to irritate my skin and cause deeper breakouts and very dry skin. The irritation started happening along my jaw line and even down my neck in certain areas. Besides the breakouts and irritation, I found that this serum didn’t help with anti-aging at all. If anything, the dry skin and irritation made my fine lines and wrinkles look worse.

Ingredients Analysis

Essy Advanced Retinol Serum has some interesting ingredients that should work well for anti-aging like sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed collagen, and nonapeptide-1.

Sodium hyaluronate is another form of hyaluronic acid which can help the skin retain moisture and plump up the fine lines and wrinkles in the skin.

Hydrolyzed collagen is another great ingredient that helps with anti-aging by creating new collagen in the skin and helping with cell turnover.

Nonapeptide-1 is an interesting ingredient; it is a skin lightening agent that helps the skin with age marks and hyperpigmentation and can help with the overall appearance of the skin.

These three ingredients are very interesting and when combined should help the skin with antiaging and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Price

The cost of Essy Advanced Retinol Serum is $14.99 for 1 oz of product.
