Overall Opinion:
After using Avene Retrinal, I did notice some nice changes to my skin and liked the texture of the product.
This product is made for people with sensitive skin in mind, which led to no side effects or redness.
It’s gluten free, which is also a plus.
My skin did get more toned and my lines did seem to fade.
Further, my skin stayed very hydrated and looked healthy throughout using this product.
Detailed Opinion:
Texture/Feel
Avene Retrinal is a very lightweight, yellow-colored cream.
It’s thin and never felt sticky. It almost has a “velvet”-like texture about it… it’s kind of hard to describe.
Application
Applying Avene Retrinal is really easy.
You apply it to your face and neck each evening.
It was one of the easier creams that I have used. And a little goes a long way…
Drying Time
This product dries super quick.
In less than 30 seconds it’s completely absorbed into your skin.
I love that is doesn’t make your face feel sticky and that you can’t really feel it on your skin.
Smell
This product has virtually NO smell.
I have found that most creams claim to be fragrance free, but really aren’t.
It was nice to find one that actually was!
Short Term Results
After waking up the next morning after using the Avene Retrinal, I didn’t notice any immediate change.
However, my skin did feel very soft.
I had no dry or red patches and I was pleased with how my makeup went on that day.
Longer Term Results
Longer term I did notice some changes to my skin.
After continuous use, my lines on my neck got a little less noticeable and my skin felt more toned.
I never developed any side effects and my skin seemed to react well to it.
Ingredients Analysis
The most unusual thing about this product is it contains Retinal NOT Retinol.
The company claims this ingredient is a direct precursor to retinoic acid– and therefore it is more potent than good old retinol.
Honestly, we’re not sure about that– it sounds like “marketing-speak” to us.
Other than the “retinal”, it also contains some peptides and a few other patented compounds.
Price
A 1.01 ounce container of Avene Retrinal costs $69.00.
Not a bad price point, especially for how little it takes during application.
Guarantee
Avene Retrinal 0.1 Intensive Cream has a 30 day money back guarantee when you purchase it from DermStore.
