Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream is by far the least expensive retinol product I’ve tried thus far, and in this case, you definitely get what you pay for.
When I first got this product, I was immediately annoyed by the giant size of the bottle; it’s so big it won’t even fit in my medicine cabinet. Besides the annoying size, the pump is also way too generous and applies way more product than you need.
The consistency of Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream is super thin and watery, and it takes a while to rub it into your skin.
It’s really bizarre because this product almost immediately dried out my skin, and the next morning I woke up looking dehydrated and dull.
Over time, this product continued to do me no favors. I found that not only did this not help with my fine lines and wrinkles, but it almost made my look older because of the way it dried out and dehydrated my skin.
Overall, Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream didn’t do anything positive for my skin and I won’t be using this product again.
Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream feels like a very thin, watery cream.
It doesn’t have a particularly nice feeling, it isn’t a gel like moisturizer, it’s just a very thin and sticky consistency.
The applicator on Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream is a pump which I normally like, but I really dislike how big this bottle is. The pump is very large as well and pumps out a lot of product so you definitely want to be careful not to pump out too much, about half a pump it more than enough.
Since this moisturizer is so thin, a little bit of product goes a long way. I found that this retinol cream took an unusual amount of time to rub into the skin.
Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream takes about 45 seconds to a minute to dry.
This is very odd but after the product dries, my face feels more dry and dehydrated than before I applied it, which I have never experienced before.
This product is the most scent free product I’ve ever tried. There is absolutely zero scent to this at all, not even just like a plain moisturizer smell which I really appreciate a lot.
Short Term Results
This first thing I noticed about using the product short term is that it dried out my skin.
I know that a lot of retinols dry out the skin, but this was a bit different. It didn’t cause my skin to flake, it just caused my skin to look and feel dry and dehydrated.
Longer Term Results
Long term I really didn’t notice any positive benefits to my skin at all. This product didn’t help with my fine lines or wrinkles at all.
I almost felt like this made my skin look older because of the way it dehydrated my skin and left it looking so dull and lifeless.
Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream contains Green Tea, Aloe Vera, and Chamomile which are three products that are all supposed to be great for anti-aging.
Green Tea is full of antioxidants which can help with the turnover of cells, which ultimately helps fight and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Aloe Vera is known to be very healing to the skin as it helps rebuild and restore collagen. It’s healing properties are supposed to help greatly with anti-aging, and fine lines and wrinkles.
Chamomile is another ingredient that is great for anti-aging because of its calming properties. It also has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which are great for the skin.
The cost of Advanced Clinicals Retinol Advanced Firming Cream is $15.00 for 16 oz which comes to $0.93 per ounce.
This is an extremely inexpensive product, and like they say, you get what you pay for.
